John West and his new business, Bio Gill Environmental (www.biogill.com.au), is the latest business to move into the SSHED. John first came to the SSHED is 2005 with his initial business, Watershed West, a water and energy saving company. After two years at the SSHED, John moved his rapidly expanding business to showrooms in Kirrawee and today Watershed West supplies rainwater tanks, greywater and Solaharthot water systems.
He has now embarked on a second business venture, commercialising ANSTO-developed technology for waste water treatment and recycling. Using unique membranes, known as bio-gills, the solution has wide ranging applications for treating industry waste water to 'Class A' standards.
'I'm a big fan of the SSHED and the business support programs on offer. When it came to launching Bio-Gill, I knew the SSHED would be the ideal place to base the business,' explained John.
