SSHED tenants have now created 83 new jobs – casual, part-time and full time (as at 1 March 2006). Eighteen tenants are now in the SSHED and four businesses have graduated from the program.

The University of Wollongong’s Loftus Education Centre, located alongside the SSHED Business Accelerator at Loftus, will be starting the Shire’s first Master of Management degree in September 2005.

SSHED Tenant Recent Successes

Since the official opening on 17 November 2003, 17 entrepreneurs have set up businesses in the SSHED. Several businesses have enjoyed recent successes including Switch IT who have launched a new product called Campaign Monitor, an email newsletter and list management tool built specifically for web designers. Are you a part of IT yet?

There are more than 200 IT businesses in the Shire. We are currently exploring the idea of establishing an ICT Cluster in the Sutherland Shire area. The first networking breakfast was held on Tuesday, 23rd Nov. 2004. There was overwhelming consensus that we should pursue the idea of an ICT Cluster in the Shire.
